Washington D.C. is the capitol of the United States. It is a vacation destination that is full of history, culture and a variety of adventures to share with loved ones whether you decide to bring along the family or choose it to spend your honeymoon in this exciting city.

Washington D.C. for Lovers
There are a variety of 4 and 5 star hotels in which to make your love nest. Discover the Lincoln Memorial together, stroll through the beautiful National Mall, and check out the offerings at the International Spy Museum or the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. See the Wright Brothers’ aircraft at the National Air and Space Museum. View the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and see Ford’s Theatre where President Lincoln was assassinated at the hands of John Wilkes Booth. Stroll the peaceful grounds of the Franciscan Monastery.

The restaurants are varied and delicious and the nightlife is vibrant. There are clubs, bars, lounges, live music venues to please every taste. You will not find a shortage of entertainment possibilities after dark in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. with the Family
Washington, D.C. is the ideal place to take a holiday with the family. There is no end of things to see and do that the kids will enjoy as well as the adults. The National Zoo is a kid friendly place where there are more than 400 species of animals on exhibit, and there is no admission fee.

The National Museum of History will thrill the children as they gaze upon the skeleton of a dinosaur that is 80 feet in size. The National Air & Space Museum has one of the largest collections of spacecraft and aircraft in the world. At the Ripley Center located on the National Mall you will find the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theatre where you can see live performances that are specifically for children.

The Washington Monument is the memorial dedicated to the first president of the United States. There is an elevator which you can ride to the top that gives you a bird’s eye view of Washington, D.C. Six Flags America is only 30 minutes from Washington’s downtown and there are over 100 rides, shows and also a water park. There are a number of great playgrounds in the Washington, D.C. area where kids can run and play, explore and just be kids.

The National Postal Museum is another of Smithsonian’s offerings and it features exhibits about delivering, sending and receiving mail. There are thousands of postal artifacts and a huge collection of postal stamps. Washington, D.C. offers a vacation that is full of fun and adventure for every member of the family.
