Miami: God’s Waiting Room No Longer

Overview
In the past people once referred to Miami as “God’s Waiting Room.” This was because it was full of retirees waiting for their last moments all over town. Today it is a chic destination for Cuban émigrés, supermodels, fashion designers and tourists from all around the nation and the globe.

Half of Miami’s population is Hispanic and it gives the city an international flare that is rarely found anywhere else in the United States. For those that come to Miami for a visit, they get a city that is spiced with spirit, politics, music, a multitude of languages and the food of Latin America.

Miami for Lovers
Taking your honeymoon in Miami is a romantic idea. There is much to see and do that will hint at love and romance. If you are daring enough, spend the afternoon at Haulover Nude Beach. Shed your inhibitions along with your clothes with your new mate. Go look for the perfect bottle of wine to share at Harrison’s Wine Gallery. Stroll hand and hand through the Flamingo Gardens where you can see Caribbean Flamingos and an assortment of wildlife. For a unique experience visit the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.

Take a romantic boat ride on the Heritage of Miami Sailboat Tour. You will glide the warm waters of the Atlantic on an 85 foot sailboat where you can kiss and canoodle as you see the sights. Visit the Art Deco district and pick up souvenirs for the folks back home. So that you can hold your honey tight take a ghost tour in Fort Lauderdale just a short jaunt up the road from Miami. Don’t forget to check out the action at South Beach where the beautiful people can be seen in all their glory. Swim in the Atlantic and soak up some sun as well as local color.

Dining and Nightlife in Miami
The food will knock your socks off as there is a wide variety of cuisines from which to choose. Try some spicy Latin American fare, a delectable selection of fresh seafood or sample some international cuisine of every type. When the sun goes down, Miami heats up with a choice of dance clubs, live music venues and theatre productions. Take a late night walk along the shore and listen to the waves roll and smell the salty air. There are bars, pubs and lounges where you can have a relaxing drink or mix and mingle with locals and tourists alike.

Take the Kids to Miami
There is much to see and do that will keep the kids happy, excited and thrilled with your choice of a vacation destination. Parrot Jungle Island should be one of your first stops. There are a variety of shows and it is a wonderful way to spend the day outdoors away from the beach. Be sure you sign up for the VIP Safari private tour.

Enjoy the five miles of beachfront while you stroll along the Miami Beach Boardwalk. Watch the cruise ships dock while the children are at play at South Pointe Park. Take the kids for some up close encounters with the creatures of the sea at the Miami Seaquarium. They will enjoy a visit to the Everglades Alligator Farm where they can see the alligators feed along with a variety of reptile, alligator and snake shows. If you should encounter a rainy day you can always take the kids to the Miami Children’s Museum or to the Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Planetarium where besides having fun, they may even learn something new.

These are just a few suggestions of what to see and do when you are in the sun drenched city of Miami. It’s not just for the golden set anymore.
